What is Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mat(GCCM)?

HX® Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite MatGCCMare a new class of geosynthetic material with a wide range of geotechnical applications.

They are flexible concrete impregnated fabrics that harden on hydration to form a thin, durable, water proof and fire resistant concrete layer. GCCMs consist of a 3-dimensional fibre matrix containing a high early-strength concrete mix.

HX® GCCM is a blanket material made of geotextile and concrete dry mix. After laying, it can form a concrete protective layer with a certain hardness and thickness through watering and curing.

HX® GCCM consists of a 3-dimensional fibre matrix containing a specially formulated dry cementitious mix. Common weights: 15KG, 12KG, 10KG, 8KG; common thicknesses: 12mm, 10mm, 8mm, 5mm, with a range of 1-4 meters and customizable lengths. Special specifications and sizes are negotiable. In engineering applications, it mainly plays the role of reinforcement, reinforcement and anti-seepage.

GCCM is also called Concrete covers or Cement blanket.

What are the types of GCCM?

HX® GCCM is divided into two types according to material and process, namely three-dimensional woven fabric (G type) and needle-punched composite type (D type).

G-Type Cement blanket: Three-dimensional mesh filled concrete cement blanket is a blanket material formed by filling concrete dry powder mixture into three-dimensional mesh, and then sealing it with high-strength fabric or anti-seepage material.

D-Type Cement blanket: Mechanical composite cement blanket consists of upper and lower layers of fabric and a middle concrete dry powder layer. These three layers are compounded together through mechanical action (needle punching, sewing, etc.) to form a blanket material.

What are the applications of GCCM?

HX® GCCM mainly plays the role of reinforcement, reinforcement and anti-seepage in the following engineering applications.
Water conservancy projects: rivers, scenic lakes, canals, etc.
Transportation projects: highways, railways, bridges, subways.
Agricultural fields: aquaculture, animal husbandry, agricultural irrigation.
Military fields: tents, flood control and rescue, soft base treatment.
Environmental engineering: wind and sand fixation, landfills, sewage treatment plants.
Marine engineering: submarine optical cables, bridge piers, reclamation slope protection.

Typical applications for use are ditch lining, slope stabilization, shoreline armor, secondary berm protection, culvert invert protection, and geosynthetic liner protection.

Performance

Strong: HX® GCCM is a flexible cement-based composite material with a certain toughness, low requirements on the foundation, and not easy to crack.the strong fibre reinforcement of GCCM absorbs any impact affecting infrastructure, which prevents cracking and makes it completely safe.

Durable: HX® GCCM is 5x more abrasion resistant than standard concrete, has excellent chemical resistance, good weathering performance, and will not degrade in UV.

Flexible :HX® GCCM has good drape characteristics and will closely follow the ground profile and fit around existing infrastructure. Unset GCCM  can be cut or tailored using basic hand tools.

HX® GCCM can be directly used for underwater operations, and the construction is not affected by rainy weather. It has excellent frost resistance, corrosion resistance, and scouring resistance, and the construction period is short, simple and fast.
