The production process of non-woven geotextiles mainly involves the preparation of raw materials, carding and laying of fibers, needle punching reinforcement, and subsequent finishing and packaging.
What is the production process of non-woven geotextiles?
1. Raw material preparation
The raw materials of non-woven geotextiles mainly include polyester chips (filament non-woven geotextiles) or polyester fibers (short-filament non-woven geotextiles). These raw materials need to undergo strict quality inspection to ensure that they meet production requirements. For polyester chips, excess water needs to be removed and melt-treated through a screw extruder; for polyester fibers, pretreatment such as opening and combing is required to achieve the required looseness and uniformity.
2. Fiber combing and laying
The pretreated fibers enter the combing machine for combing to remove impurities and arrange them neatly. Subsequently, the fibers are evenly spread on the conveyor belt through the laying machine to form a fiber net of a certain thickness and density. The arrangement direction and density of the fibers need to be strictly controlled during the laying process to ensure the uniformity and stability of the final product.
3. Needle Punch Reinforcement
After the fiber net enters the needle punching machine, it is repeatedly punctured and reinforced by a large number of needles. During the needling process, the fibers are entangled, squeezed and tightly combined to form a non-woven geotextile with certain strength and stability. The density and depth of the needling can be adjusted according to the different requirements of the product to achieve the best reinforcement effect.

4. Finishing and Packaging
The non-woven geotextile reinforced by needle punching needs to be finished, including removing burrs on the surface, cutting into specified sizes and shapes, etc. Subsequently, the product is rolled into rolls and packaged for easy transportation and storage. During the packaging process, care should be taken to prevent the product from getting damp, damaged or contaminated.
5. Quality Control
Strict quality control is required during the production process of non-woven geotextiles. From the selection of raw materials to the packaging of finished products, every link needs to be inspected and monitored for quality. For example, physical performance tests such as tensile tests and tear tests can be used to evaluate the strength and stability of the product; chemical performance tests can be used to evaluate the corrosion resistance and aging resistance of the product. Only non-woven geotextiles that meet quality standards can be used in actual projects.
